Electric Zoo Day 1

Electric Zoo at Randall's Island was out of this world! Fucking crazy. Four tents at the same time each with a sick artist, from 11 to 11 on Saturday and Sunday.
I left from class at McGill in Montreal to the airport, and flew back the morning of class (missed my flight and both classes but that's another story). Had to hit it up.
So not much of an introduction needed.
Here's the sickness
(organized in order of who we saw, starting with Joachim in the morning, and the closers, Chemical Brothers):

Day One

Joachim Garraud
(He didn't play it, but it's sick shit)

Joachim Garraud was amazing when he started playing "Clocks" on his keytar, I wish he released that song, and I wish there was a video from electric zoo or a video with better quality, he basically did the same build up, but the drop was much better. Had to put this up anyway cause the keytar is sick.

Afrojack
(Afrojack was pretty dope, and this song is a killer)

(The fucking shit that starts at 1:20 just kills me, just fucking kills me)

(The original has that fucking catchy shit like the whole time, I love this shit. Shit. Shitshit. I realized I say shit alot)

(This shit is ill, when "a milli" started being heard people were going crazy, then when it dropped, Bam!) ("Bam!" Means people went crazier by the way)

Claude Vonstroke
(Claude V was killing it, legit. Some giant friendly guido told me the name of this song cause I had to know, shit was sick)

Fake Blood
(Time and time again, I say this could be my favorite song, and this is the official Ravemen song. When Fake Blood played this, all suspicions were satisfied that this song is EPIC. I mean the place got crazy, this song is fucking amazing. PERIOD.)
- Also, hearing "I Think I Like It" literally made me lose my voice 'cause of how much we sang/yelled/wenthard MOFUCKAZ -

(This was his closer, and it was fucking sick)

Rusko
(The ultimate dubstep classic in my opinion, when Rusko dropped this my heart was at peace)

(A straight killer, and he knows it, so he drops it at will)

(This and "Jahova" were the two songs he had to play for me to be happy, and I got my wish. Sick shit)

Benny Benassi
(I don't know if he played this, cause I missed out on a lot of his set *tears*. But Benassi is my man, no homo, and this song is dope. More of him to come in later posts)

(This song he DID play, and I was there for it, and I'm telling you this shit is dope as hell. Found it over the summer, hearing it live was epic)

Pretty Lights
(Deadass Pretty Lights was amazing live, props to the guy. Completely killed it. Note on my memo pad. "Pretty Lights = Trippy Roller Disco?" Deadass though, it's some funky space groove shit, great stuff. I wish I could find the final song of the night though, it was sick, "Empire State of Mind" and "Juicy" remix thing)

THIS SHIT HAS GOT TO GET RELEASED!

(Pretty Lights turned out to be the shit. Nuff' said.)

Chemical Brothers
(To be honest, Chemical Brothers were sick live, but I'm not sure about how much I like their stuff on its own without their mixing, they're truly masters live though. This song however, I seriously dig, mad cute and moving son. And it was siiiick live because the bass is so much more powerful)

Cool Video Here

Random Song of the Zoo
/\ Note beautiful weather
(Can't remember who dropped this, but this was some dope shit. Was, and is some dope shit.)

Bye Bye

It's been amazing to have been graced with such a great group of friends for most of my high school experience, and leaving to college has really put this entire stage of my life into perspective.
I should be coming back to New York fairly frequently in the coming year, so the biggest blow is the thought of not being able to see some of my friends that are going to be far away for such a long time. Names that come to my head are Max (my Norwegian instructor, fellow bear roller, fellow roller, guy who fucking rolls the way I roll in a hood way), Ian (triangle = all i need to say), and Lizzy (who forms thizzy with me, similar to Gotenks' formation or some shit). I'm expecting to see everyone else more often than I see those three in this coming year so it's a hard parting to make.
Basically,
I'm going to college and I'm going to miss my friends alot because we are a crew and a family, and this post is dedicated to every crew song we've been on, and maybe you'll learn a bit of our flavor by listening and downloading.
(I wrote this before finding out I can go to electric zoo and reunite with these mofuckas so soon, yee boiii!)

...I just realized, I don't know how to make descriptions for these songs, they're all so great, so you should just know that before listening, this is close to an entire group of friends' playlist for their years of friendship. That's sick shit.

The post is organized by genre, but each song is organized by date in each genre, so the oldest songs are at the top.

Rap
Barcelona '10
(This is an original classic, maybe the original classic. Everybody but the gremlin lady aka Kimbo in the picture above knows the lyrics perfectly, and we all knew it separately. It is a seriously dope song, no lie, no lie.)

(Mercer Street, H6, Boysenberry Cougars. This shit is too legit)

(Merker Street, H dot seis dot, put you in a case dot. Classic track. Cass da bomb!)

Chelsea's Backyard '08
(Oh shit, this song is poppin', really, it is)

Lizzy's '09
(A classic, emphasizes our crew's way of life when our crew's way of life is chillin 40in and bluntin, but we smoke Js mostly, get at us. Summer Ale and a J, you know our steelo)

(Another classic, but these are all classics. Who doesn't love this song? The crew does and did and we all know the words basically, it's fly, an anthem)

Central Park '10
(May not be B-Boy stances, but that is legit city Varsity fresh right there. Oh, and I told you, I can't really describe these songs, they're all just too good. This one is one of my personal favorites, so sick)

(Ah, not much else to say, just play it, and then we can all trip together! Fuck black salad)

Paris '10
(Another anthem, how catchy is that shit! Very catchy, I already know. It was a rhetorical question)

(You got the crew flu? Come and let the crew woo you. Good song but everyone knows that already. Props to Sherlz for showin' the Bean video)

Cava's '10
(A Thizzy favorite, love this song, you should too. Dope beat and dope punchlines, it's almost all punchlines too)

Waterside '09 or some shit
(This song makes everyone feel good, especially Mattia in the picture above. Oh no.
"Bitch I feel good, don't I look stupendous!")

Jammin' Shit
Crack Den '10
(This is just a classic song for any and every crew, or it should be)

UNIS '10, I think, maybe '09
(Yes, we all went on stage and sang this song with our friends S.H.I.T.C.U.N.T. when they performed it in school. Yes it is that much of a great song, became the anthem of our grade after being the anthem of our crew)

(This was the co-anthem at the same time as "Dreaming of You", except this stayed mostly within the crew, it's a GREAT song)

Berlin '10
(WE DON'T GET SLEEPY! Great song but most people know that, we just knew it before)

(Another really important crew song, wow I sense a theme amongst these. It's a great song and you should check it out and download it, I promise you'll like it)

(Good song. I love my friends, thas all imma say)

(Great song, this was basically our night's coming down song of summer 09, blasting it downstairs while chilling around the table, times I can't forget)

Senior Page, You Jealous! '10
(This is THE Tri/_\ngle song, Triangle song. Good song but more of a personal attachment, had to post it)

(Dope song, was into it towards the end of last year and til' who knows when, dope dope, dopity dope. The beginning is great)

(More recent crew song, but we all love it.)

Techno
Lou's Roof, '10
(THE SONG. This is what started us into techno. Basically.)

(The Other Song! This was the co-anthem when we were listening to "Love to Edit", we had some good times with these)

(This is an October 10th song that Crookers played, but it's not dubstep so I'm keeping it here. Great song, the 2nd drop is grimy)

Casa Sala, Summer '09
(Crew approved, Crewproved)

(The main build up and drop is too grimy, the amount of times we got pumped and hype to this song is uncountable, cause we can't remember... BUT IT WAS MAD TIMES)

Midtown, '10 or '09
(The whistle drop is a killer. Titty Team Track, showed by Tom)

(Oh this is too sick. Who couldn't love the throwback McDonald's commercial remix)

(Classic song... Psych. It's a classic crew approved funny video! And pretty catchy song, remix here)

Lizzy's, '09/'08/'10? Who the fuck knows
(Recent crew song. The instant party starter. Ravemen approved)

(Eurotrip special dedication. But whole crew digs it, new shit, good shit)

October 10th - Dubstep
Why We Go Harder Than You, Until Now
(we still probably go harder, but you can step up your game with these songs)
UNIS, Post Oct. 10th 2009, You pitieddd
(The original dubstep track in my opinion, whole crew loves and loved it, it started our dubstep craze, and Tom since he showed the genre to us)

(...Just listen to the opening words and you'll know why it goes hard, great song)

(I can't even describe "Apples", perfect dubstep track, CMON YALL!)

Terminal 5, October 10th 2009, yes!
(The lighter funner side of dubstep, a killer song)

(One of our original favorites, important song for dubstep, great song for everyone)

the Cave of the Caveman, '09
(One of the catchiest songs ever, and a grimy dubstep track too, no way! YES WAY)

(october10thoctober10thoctober10thoctober10th. Jack Beats killed it and this song kills it, after we heard it live, it became a classic)

(Just as "Drop the Pressure", "Get Down" shook our little younger bodies when we heard it live and then it became a classic for us)

Casa Sala, '09
(When I first heard this song, I thing a part of me may have died and gone to music heaven. Instantly turned into a crew favorite, and anyone who heard it, even who didn't like dubstep, liked it)

(One day I'll explain the full story behind this song, but it's such a good dirty motherfucking song that we actually have an ENTIRE story behind it. I'll give you a hint: Robots, war, survival, chainsaws, yeah)

(So sick.)

(Such a fly song, absolutely adore it! Ya! No but really, a crew lock)

Chill
Senior Retreat, Central Park, 2010
(The chillest, best, most beautiful song)

UNIS, UN Day
(S.H.I.T.C.U.N.T. played it at school and had the whole school shivering, it's one of the most important crew songs ever, easily)

(Beautiful beautiful song, we even loved it while pregaming for parties or dances. It's sick)

(No competition for what I think to be the best oldschool song, Fats Waller kills it, crew lovez)

Family Gathering, Lou's Roof, '10
(Super duper song)

(It's actually called "Breathe" but the file name on Itunes will be "Breath" because for some reason "Breathe" wasn't working when I uploaded.. Just to explain. It's fly shit, chill shit)

(The best version of this song, really great song. Norway!)

Senior Retreat, '09
(My morning alarm, it's a great song, Ravemen Approved, shown to me by Caveman)

(I LOVE THIS SONG. I really do. And so does the rest of the crew)

(Great song, we've all really enjoyed it)

Home, Always
(Home is with these guys, and some others who aren't in our grade)
