Jean Grae

Next artist in the preparation for December 26th posts... Jean mo'fuckin Grae, A.K.A. Jean Grae. Easily the most vicious female rapper of all time. Lauryn Hill is widely considered to be the best female rapper of all time, but it's still debatable. I'm not gonna get into who's better 'cause I don't know of all their shit, but I can say that no matter how good Lauryn Hill is, she can't be nearly as ferocious as Jean Grae.
I mean, name one female rapper who has lyrics like "Mash your teeth, smash you, then bind your feet, ill thrash holes in your dome, snatch your soul and retreat" in a song where the chorus is repeated "Fuck you"s... Nicki Minaj wouldn't even come close to Ms. Grae.

Jean Grae &Talib Kweli? Oh this is too much!
(My first favorite Jean Grae song, I'd like it even if it was just for the beat, this song is just too good and should not be overlooked by anyone. That means you. But it's all good if you're not feeling it that much now, at one point in your life you probably will hear it and be like "whoa! fresh!")

(I love the chorus in this one, the sampling is on point, and the lyrics do her crew justice. And of course when somebody raps about their crew in such a way you gotta relate it to your crew and this song does my crew justice. I'm definitely feeling this one)

("I don't give a fuck if you framed that, or quote it, I meant what I said 'cause I wrote it, point noted." No doubt Jean, now that I got your permission... This song is tough and the lyrics are typical Grae, not too black, not too white, never whack and always right)

Jean Grae making fun of mainstream hip hop and doing her own freestyle, this is actually hilarious. "And I'm still eatin pop rocks nigga, catch me on the block playin hopskotch nigga!"

Ma Cherie

A fun song for you to listen to and download so your days will be funner. You might remember it from the "Just Dew It" Mix as it was the opening song, now you can have the full song just to yourself! You selfish mofugga you.

(I can't even lie, this song is pretty corny, and probably rightly so, but, I just can't help liking it. The drop at 1:20 is on the epic side of things, it's not dirty or anything, just a feel good, loud, happy drop. It's a cute song. You know it.)

Havoc Inducer

Everyone's talking about Dubstep! And since I've already done an earlier post with my thoughts on the matter, now I'm just going to shove forward a heavy dub track that should make your life better if you do in fact like dubstep as much as you say you do!
And if you don't like dubstep, here's another chance to change your mind, with one of the rawest tracks my ears have been graced with.
^ Why? Because anteaters don't get enough love, and neither does bass, until now.

(In my opinion this is one of the best drops, just because for me at least it was unexpectedly dirty and raw immediately from the get go, I might have just ruined that surprise for you, but I still think there's a good chance I didn't because it's so hard hitting even after I've heard it so many times. Favorite part? The 'HEY!' right before drop, very classic. Very jurassic. Why the dinosaur reference? Because dinosaurs are raw and so is this song)

Just Dew It

Here's the mix I made for my little lady (gurlfrand) Maya's birthday.
All corniness aside (and by corniness I mean the fact that every song is relatable, and almost all of the lyrics are too), it's one of my most ambitious mixes yet and I think it turned out pretty damn good (if I may say so myself), even though I have some issues with it.
Favorite part has got to be at when "Love to Edit" and "Baby I'm Yours (Color Blaster Remix)" drop together, shit had me dancing first time I played it, unfortunately I think I messed it up a teeny weeny bit in this recording, but, I still like it nonetheless, I'm just pretty hard on myself.
Some people might just find it corny and not focus on the actual mix, but that's alright cause we all know that:

But all haters aside, here's the mix, with a cute picture to fit the theme (I'd add a more intense picture to fit the theme of 10:59 when you're gonna get shoved behind a plane lifting off and have to deal with that blast of intensity, but I couldn't find a picture dirty enough).

(My favorite parts are at 7:48 for one of my favorite sounding 'choruses' ever, I just find "Praise You" so beautiful, 10:59 for the bass murder - one of my new favorite drops, and at like 16:01 when "Baby I'm Yours (Color Blaster Remix)" and "Love to Edit" start playing together as the epic finale)

A Reminder on the 10,000 Deal

I have come to the realization that there's a good chance I could be the 10,000th person to view Tay Today, and there's also a good chance it could be someone completely unaware of the whole 'event' going on.
So, to solve this dilemma of the 10,000th view getting wasted.
It'll be the person closest to 10,000 but up to 10,010 who takes a snapshot and shows me who will get their own mix (of which they can request a specific element or theme).
This means that if you're 10,007 and somebody else was 10,005 then they get mix and you lucked out by a little, but if you're 10,009 or 10,010 and nobody else submitted before you, then you're in luck.
We're getting near 9,900 so keep your eyes peeled!
