By the Tay, For Partay

Another new post straight from Barcelona! How poppin'!
This time around the post is chock full of fresh Mashup action (as well as non-mashup songs in case you have a problem with song splicing).

RHCP-RHCP-RHCP-RHCP

The reason I got into all of these mashups is because this song (/\ right there!) was played at a Barcelona club the other night so I went hard to find it, found it, and then decided to look for more Red Hot Chili Peppers remixes which led to mashups galore!

(This is sick)

("99 Problems" is always sick and there's so many great remixes of it since it's originally acapella and the flow is so flawless, but this mashup is dope and I'm feeling it)

Overheard in Barcelona (Kinda)
Also heard "I Think I Like U 2" and "Hold Yuh" at separate clubs which inspired me to post them (and/or a remix) here!

I've been a big fan of "I Think I Like U 2" for a while now and to finally hear it in a club confirmed my belief that it's a sick dance song.

(Not sure which one I like more, original or remix, but they're both dope)

(This is mostly for the ladies, it's my friend Camila's favorite song, and it got people going hard (potentially literally with the way they were dancing to it) at the club so it's got to have something to it, this remix adds something else to it, double whammy)

Jackson 5
The Jackson 5 got that bubbly bubble pop sound that everyone loved at some point in their life (or most people, unless you too cool fo' that shit) so them in mashups is perfect, especially with two of the most overplayed rap songs in the recent past!

(Finally makes "A Milli" bearable again after the onslaught of playing time it received)

(Personally my favorite of the two "I Want You Back" mashups)

(Another one that's mostly for the ladies, you won't catch me playing this song for myself ever, but it's a fresh mashup and may come in handy during a set, so here it is)

More Fresh Shit
(Definitely feeling this one, Kids is a great track but got overplayed and this mashup lets me enjoy it again)

(This is the classic mashup, if you don't know it, now you do, and if your friends don't know it, do them a favor and show them, it's just on point)

(Another classic mashup, I'd love to see Beethoven's reaction)

(No it's not a song about Lil' Wayne being president, chill out wayneheads, it's the Office TV show theme song, fresh)

Ravemen Exclusives
(This is a great example of what rap/dance music should sound like when it's combined, can't wait to start dropping this while DJing)

(Just found this yesterday, it's pretty dope, if anything it's the odd one out here, but the drop at around 1:20 is dope)

(Ravemen Exclusive because the infamous Raveman DJ Caveman showed it to me all the way from Shelter Island, New York! From New York, to Barcelona, to wherever you live, - shout out to my American Samoa fans, Luxembourg, and Vatican City peeps, keep doin yo' thang!)

His Name Wale, Don't Say Wall-E

I haven't been posting much rap on Tay Today so far...
But that's just because I've been downloading mostly techno and stuff since it's better as DJ material.
So now I'm going back in the music archive and doing a post primarily dedicated to my favorite, and whom I consider to be the most under-appreciated rapper out of the new generation of hip hop (B.o.B, Kid Cudi, Lupe Fiasco, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, you know, those guys)...
The one,
The only,
Wale!

Wale Himself
This is the first hit by Wale that I heard, ridiculous remix of "Dance" by Justice, and the video is fresh as well.

"Hit the green like running backs for no yards"
(This song kills it, plain and simple, short and sweet, the beginning of my appreciation and hopefully yours, if you don't know him yet, of Wale)

"I plead with em, the system ain't right, like the first Nintendo, the blinking red light"
(One of the classics, a hand's down killer)

"Switch the game up like Manning at the line, I roll from the Dome like I'm playing for the Lions, it's coke what I wrote, get 'em high err line, it's like detox when your speakers turn down"
(Maybe my favorite Wale track of all time, another classic. The first verse just deads any competition)

"Not wall-e, not whale, I am Wale, hardly a whale, I'm a shark you can call me, Wale, got my whole town saying that, put my whole town on the map like I painted that"
(Takes the Jay-Z line and turns it into a hook, and get your ears hooked on this shit, some old Wale classic)
"Content too inappropriate for you"
(This song is dedicated to the Freaks! One of the Wale classics)

"Bring it back, I ain't saying that I'm Nas here, I'm just saying rap's dead when I'm not here"
(Fresh shit)

"A sight for sore eyes, I'm the brightest upcoming, these other niggas dreaming if they thinking that they thugging"
(Yeah, this must be a dream, so much Wale, in one post?! Wowzers!)
"So pretentious, with no potential, she goes to catch up, although her rent's up"
(Just play it, catchy ass song and best off his new album)

"They used to call me the future, A month later say "Fuck it, I've grown used to him""
(Just a sick remix, and he even gives shout outs to the other up and coming rappers out. The original and the remix are both so dope I'm posting the original below)

(Beautiful ass song)

Wale & Co.
"You niggas so-so like seamstress"
(A fresh collaboration between two of the sickest in the game right now, fact. And Wale's so-so/sew sew line is just nasty)

"Niggas know I'm sick, I don't spit, I vomit, got it?"
"Wale is the sure shot like red dot"
(Cannon is my favorite track by Weezy, and this remix is fresh as hell, a classic Wale verse added on and it kills it)

(Nothing close to the original, which is one of my favorite rap tracks ever, but it's still a good tribute to Meth the OD)

(Don't even get me started on Method, he's too good and this song is just a sneak preview at how good he really is, I'll have to do a Meth dedicated post at some point)

"You say you got alotta cars, well I got a lot!"
(Everyone knows the original and it's dope, but this remix is better, so it's really good!)

"Women'll make love to ya just to take it from ya"
"You got the first word, the last word, and fuck it, all my passwords, and that hurts"
(Jean Grae is the best female rapper ever so this collab is sick)

(Come and get it, come and get it, hot shit, hot shit!)

"Mirror, tell me I'm the realest, since all these other niggas got gimmicks in their lyrics"
(Bun B is also sick, so another good collab., really feel this track)

(A combination of two fresh rappers of the new generation using their previous verses, good remix of "DC Gorillaz")

And for a bonus track!!!
(A bonus track just for the library)

You're Oh Trippin... Eurotrippin

So since July 12th I've been on a Eurotrip and am located in Barcelona right now where I finally have some wi-fi, pretty dope stuff, and I decided I'd finish and upload the post I had been meaning to from even before Eurotrip, it's fairly random but listen, download, and enjoy.

To start, you absolutely HAVE to watch the Gorillaz' "On Melancholy Hill" Video because it is doper than dope, and sicker than sickness, and this song has been one of the crew's main anthems for this summer. Wouldn't let me embed the vid so just click the link to avoid the stink.
(And here's the download/play link for the song, hit it up)

Titty Team Tom Spotlight
These following two songs were shown to me by my good friend and fellow member of the DJ duo Titty Team (T.T. Team, Theo Tom Team) a good while back, so check it out.
(The video of these guys going to work is above, and they're absolutely ridiculous, check out the video and then download the song if you want a bouncing moving track that will change and put a funky twist on wherever you are)

(This song is a CLASSIC, I tell you, a classic. I heard it way back last year and it's remained one of my favorite songs of this genre, what the genre is I'm not exactly sure but it's some kind of groovy lovalova music)

(Speaking of groovy lovalova music... In case you forgot about this song and don't have it on your itunes, step yo' shit up and get it right now, it's nostalgia in a 4 minute eardrum seduction, Shaggy has a flow like no other)

Rock-ish Stuff
(Pretty catchy song yo! It'll come in handy for ear pleasuring at some point, I assure you, actually I take that back in case you're a hardcore metalhead or raphead)

(This song is my favorite song by Kings of Leon and is just ill, no question about it, one of the best tracks in this post)

(And since I just posted a K.o.L. song, here's a RePost of the "Use Somebody" remix which is redunkulous)

Dance Dance Dance
(This song is huge everywhere and plays at every club at least once, in Berlin and in Barcelona so far. This is a good remix of it)

(The other day I was walking around at night and this came up on shuffle, instant classic in my opinion, it's just a spring and puts bounce in even the most swaggerless person)

(Pretty fresh stuff, no pun intended, a good Drum n Bass song and the video makes me want to learn how to jump rope, no lie, just wait til' the two crazy girls join in)

(Downloaded the original 'cause my scholastic peer and friend DeceptiKahn, aka Weenie sent me this remix in a message, it's raw and it'll hit you, your ears might complain later because they're too weak fo' this shit)

Muh Birthdae

So yesterday, July 7th, was my 18th birthday, and during some of the festivities of the night (and during most of it) me, or one of my musically inclined friends (Max, or Caveman of Ravemen) would be DJing some sort of music.
For a brief stint, this DJing was recorded so I'm just going to post the only recorded segment of the night.

Kind of rough sounding and it starts off sketch, but gets better.

(I'm telling you, "I Think I Like It" is the track of the summer, impossible not to like.
That, as well as every other song in the mix I think, has already been posted so you can download it somewhere here if you want, or hit me up for it.)

Also, so as not to only post a rough sounding song, here are various other songs that come to mind...

(Just some catchy hype dance song)

(Aptly titled, that's all I have to say. But I'll also say that the drums and rhythm throughout the entire song is what makes it so special for me, and the drumroll trickling in at 3:30 is dope)

Song of the Tay (aka Day)!
(One of the catchiest and best put together songs in my opinion)

And that's all folks! (Dubstep post still to come)

Got a Passion for Pit?

Went to the Passion Pit concert last night at Governor's Island, they had just had their biggest concert ever in New York at Prospect Park the day before, and the one last night broke that record, so it was packed and pretty sick except for a bunch of people who were whiny.
(I know, it's a great picture especially with the blur, it shows how hectic it was, yeah!)

So, I've been inspired to have a Passion Pit dedicated post (predominantly remixes or what I think will be more difficult to find as compared to their bigger stuff - which I may have already posted).

(The drop is at like 1:50 so be patient, Jack Beats is a killer, a killer I tell you!)

(Both remixes of "Little Secrets" are ill so listen to both, download both)

Only problem was that they didn't play my favorite song "Cuddle Fuddle", which was posted earlier and you should definitely check out if you haven't already.

(This was the song at the concert that immediately caught my ear and I had to download it, one of the older ones I hadn't heard before, I'm late to it but it's cute and adorable so get it)

(This is my favorite Passion Pit remix of them all, it's catchy as fuck and the drops at like 0:45 and 1:52 are ridiculous)

(This isn't a Passion Pit song but it's their remix of the song "Symphonies" by Dan Black, had to post this cause it's my favorite version of an already good song, so not only can they play, but they can DJ too!)
